Cultural Chatty Coffee – Rose Bakery tea room at the Musée de la Vie Romantique
Coffee, Culture & Conversation – all in one delightful afternoon!
Please join your fellow WIC members for an afternoon drink and chat at Rose Bakery tea room followed by a visit to the museum. The tea room is located in an enchanting garden courtyard—a peaceful oasis hidden behind a discreet alley lined with century-old trees.
The Musée de la Vie Romantique is a charming hidden gem in Paris’s 9th arrondissement that celebrates the Romantic period of the early-to-mid 19th century. Just recently reopened on February 14, 2026 (Valentine’s Day!) after a major renovation that began in September 2024, it offers visitors an intimate glimpse into the artistic and literary world of Romanticism.
The museum is housed in a beautiful 1830’s pavilion. The building was originally home to painter Ary Scheffer, who hosted legendary salons (social gatherings) attended by the cultural elite of the 19th century—including Chopin, Liszt, Delacroix, Lamartine, Charles Dickens, and many others. These luminaries would drink, discuss art, and create in the very rooms that now display their works.
Cost: Free entry to the café and the museum’s permanent collection.
No reservation required. Hope to see you there!
